postheadericon Visitor Information

  1. This information is for all Users of the Lodge who are not owners and will be distributed by the rental agents to new owners and their visitors.
  2. The Lodge has been made available to you and your party as an extension of the unit owner who has sponsored you. Please be mindful that this person is responsible for your group as guests during your stay. These responsibilities include any costs for use of the premises, loss or damage to Condominium property and any complaints from other owners which may arise.
  3. While we trust that your group will abide by all rules governing use of the premises, please be informed that the Board reserves the right to require owners to abridge the use of the premises by their guests should a complaint not be resolved satisfactorily. Your host will be notified and the problem made clear to your group for resolution.
  4. All members of the group staying overnight in the Lodge bedrooms must be registered and made known to the host. Lodge accommodation consists of a maximum of 12 overnight guests, with a maximum of 3 to a room . Special arrangements can be made for small children. Guests may sleep only in the bedrooms. Please keep furniture in the rooms in which you find it. Some of it is old so be gentle.
  5. Guests’ cars MUST be parked in the Visitors lot at the main gate, not in the owners’ compound. Please provide your host with the license numbers of these vehicles so we can be aware of them as part of our membership. Cars may load and unload items at the Lodge for 20 minutes but no cars may be parked for longer on the island as all roads are fire routes.
  6. Guests staying at the Lodge have access to the pool and tennis courts on a shared basis and island rules for those facilities apply. The courts are clay and can be damaged by hard shoes. Please use only appropriate footwear. Please sweep the courts after use. Ask Rosaire if you need some help in how to do this.
  7. Lodge guests have the use of the Lodge itself, the gardens and lawns and the courts and pool. Except for visits to their host’s unit, they do NOT have access to the residents’ area of the island.
  8. Guests must make arrangements for mooring boats prior to arrival through their host. The docks are restricted to boat operators.
  9. Please be conscious of noise at the Lodge — loud music, shouting, that sort of thing. You are in close proximity to others’ homes. Please restrict outdoor activities to times between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. to allow others the quiet you’d expect for yourselves in your own homes.
  10. The Lodge is a wonderful, historic structure – made of old wood. Smoking or fires of any kind are a very real danger so please restrict any open flame only to the fireplaces and the kitchen stove. If smoke you must, the point at the river is congenial and furthest removed from others’ olfactory sensibilities.
  11. Island members are friendly and will be pleased to help with advice and maybe even assistance, so please ask. There is a lot that is unfamiliar and also wonderful here and you’ll enjoy it more if you understand it from our perspective and experience.
  12. Alfred is your nearest useful destination for groceries, restaurants newspapers, the LCBO, Home Hardware and some of the best fries in Canada – or so they claim. It is 11 kilometres due south, at the end of the Bolt Road. When you leave the lot, drive to the stop sign, continue across
Road 1, directly down the Bolt to town. The route has several stops and turns but is posted all the way.
  13. Rosaire Lalonde takes care of the grounds and facilities between 8:30 and 5, Monday to Friday. He will help in many matters but has his own tasks to do. Your host will be your best source for information and support and will be on the island during your visit so please start there.
  14. Our island welcome letter, with area maps, is on the desk in the Great Hall for further information.
  15. Please enjoy your stay here. This is a wonderful place. We all regard you as our guests and we’ll try to help to make your visit memorable.
